Points to be observed by the instructors serving as proctors during the exam:

  • Proctors are responsible for ensuring that the exam is conducted in accordance with the rules in the classroom to which they are assigned.
  • Students’ identity documents must be checked before the exam. Students who do not have an identity document or whose identity documents are deficient will not be able to enter the exam.
  • Students’ signatures must be collected before the exam by means of the exam signature list of the relevant course.
  • The exams of students who do not take the exam in the laboratory specified in the exam schedule during the relevant day and time will be considered invalid.
  • In the event of a technical problem during the exam, the distance education coordinator of the relevant faculty/school/vocational school, the course instructor (erkoc@hku.edu.tr) and, from the Information Technology Directorate, Hüseyin Yılmaz and Yasin Göktaş can be contacted to resolve the problem. (huseyin.yilmaz@hku.edu.tr, yasin.goktas@hku.edu.tr)
  • For students who experience a technical problem during the exam, or who cannot complete their exam due to such technical problems, caused by our university’s distance learning management system, a separate report must be prepared and the situation must be reported to the course instructor (erkoc@hku.edu.tr) and to the distance education coordinator of the relevant faculty/school/vocational school.
  • Students who are determined to have experienced a technical problem in the exam may be allowed to continue their exam through alternative devices, under the control of the relevant proctor and provided that this situation is reported in a report. Students who do not experience a technical problem must absolutely not be allowed to take the exam from any device other than the computers at the exam venue.
  • Students who complete their exam must sign under the supervision of the exam proctor. Otherwise, the exams of those without a signature will be considered invalid, and students must absolutely not be allowed to sign retroactively.
  • During the exam, it is important for proctors to prevent students’ attempts to cheat by talking to each other, using mobile phones or similar devices, etc., and to check students’ computer screens in order to prevent cheating.
  • Students who experience a technical problem during the exam, or who cannot complete their exam due to such technical problems, caused by our university’s distance learning management system must submit their justification on the matter, together with supporting information attached, to the relevant dean’s office/directorate by the end of working hours on the first business day following the day on which the relevant exam was held.
