Dear students and esteemed instructors,
The Learning Management System (LMS) used to conduct distance education courses at our university has been renewed. The new system operates under the name HKU LMS (Hasan Kalyoncu University Learning Management System) and has replaced the former LMS.
What has changed?
- The course schedule, course content and materials, assignments, live classes (Zoom), course recordings and meetings are managed in a single place.
- Course and student information is synchronized with OBS twice a day (at 06:00 and 18:00).
New address
Login information
Students:
- Log in with the institutional username and password you use for the University’s e-mail, Portal and wireless network (Wi-Fi) services.
- Username: your student number if you enrolled in 2025 or later; first.last if you enrolled before 2025 (do not add @std.hku.edu.tr).
- You cannot log in with your Student Information System (OBS) password.
Academic and administrative staff:
- Log in with the institutional username and password you use for the University’s e-mail, Portal and wireless network (Wi-Fi) services.
- Username: the part of your institutional e-mail address before the “@” sign (example: first.last).
- You cannot log in with your Student Information System (OBS) password.
- Select “Staff / Instructor” at login.
Instructors assigned from outside the university:
- Enter your Turkish Republic ID number as your username and your Student Information System (OBS) password as your password. This method does not work if you have an institutional e-mail account; in that case, log in with your institutional username.
- Select the “Staff / Instructor” option on the login screen.
Password renewal
If you have forgotten your password, you can renew it via the “Forgot Password” link on the Portal. A verification code is sent to the mobile phone number registered in the system. Your new password must not contain any part of your first name or surname. Portal – Forgot Password

- After logging in to the system, you can access the “Help” page (https://lms.hku.edu.tr/hlp), which includes information about assignments, assigning instructors to courses, and roles and permissions.
- The “Login information” guide is always accessible through the link on the login screen.
