- In courses conducted through online distance education, each class hour will be 50 minutes. In English Preparatory education conducted within the School of Foreign Languages, each class hour will be 40 minutes.

- In courses conducted through online distance education, compliance with attendance requirements (a 70% attendance requirement applies to theoretical courses) is essential.

- Courses conducted through online distance education will be held synchronously. It will be ensured that course recordings are accessible after the class and can be rewatched by the students taking the course.

- Courses conducted through online distance education will be distributed evenly across the days of the week, within working hours.

- The English II course will be conducted asynchronously through distance education on an artificial intelligence-supported language education platform. The syllabus, materials and in-term activities of the English II course can be followed on the relevant platform.

- The Atatürk’s Principles and History of Revolution and Turkish Language courses will be conducted asynchronously through distance education on our university’s learning management system (HKU-LMS). The syllabi and contents of these courses can be followed on HKU-LMS.

- For all online courses to be offered through distance education, a virtual classroom will be defined in HKU-LMS, and live classes may also be created through the meeting module available in HKU-LMS. In addition, in all online courses, other virtual classroom platforms and tools may be used as needed to support HKU-LMS (e.g., Google Classroom, Meet, Google Drive, etc.). In all online courses, course materials and syllabi will be shared with the students taking the course via HKU-LMS and/or the other virtual classroom platforms used.

- Our students will be informed that all processes of courses delivered through distance education (such as exams, live classes, in-class materials, discussion comments and activities) are specific to the course context; that sharing the images and texts related to them on social media and other media without permission is contrary to the regulations on the protection of personal data and the confidentiality of private life; and about the KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law) and its applications.

- All current announcements and information regarding distance education courses can be followed at https://rc.hku.edu.tr/uzom/ .

- The midterm exams of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester (except for programs that include practical training for which special student status is granted) will be held online using distance education methods on the dates announced in the academic calendar and/or by the academic units, based on the principle of “transparency and auditability”.

- In the assessments to be made, open-ended or multiple-choice online exams, assignments, online quizzes, projects, Learning Management System (LMS) activities, LMS usage analytics and similar applications may be used.

- The “course practicals” postponed to April may be carried out in the form of assignments, projects, etc., or face to face, in accordance with the decisions to be taken by the relevant boards of the academic units.

- Courses outside the scope of face-to-face education will continue to be conducted online, as has been the case since the beginning of the semester.
